About Raise For Future:

Raise For Future is a site that makes giving back to schools easy. Users can shop at any of our partner stores (many that they would shop at anyway) and a percentage of the sale is paid back to the school of their choice.

Raise For Future was created by Brian Longest and Chris Breshears of Phase One Accelerators after a less than perfect fund raising experience.

Brian's first grade twins were selling items to raise money for their school. Brian set up a web page for his son's school fundraising event, and sent the link to family and friends to purchase online to benefit the school. Brian decided that it would be safer to allow his kids to sell online, and it would also be a great lesson to explain to his children the power of online ecommerce.

Brian sent the link to his friend Chris who wanted to help out the twins. Looking at the catalog of available items from the school's fundraiser, Chris could not find anything he wanted. He ended up purchasing the cheapest item he could, a half-pound bag of chocolate covered cashews for $9.00. With shipping, the total came to $26.00. Even though it was for a good cause, it was quite a lot of money for cashews that he didn't want.

As a result of their hard work, the twins won a limo ride and pizza lunch for selling more than their classmates. A great success for the twins, but not for the people that bought the items.

Brian and Chris decided there had to be a better way. A place where schools could easily raise money and people could buy items they actually wanted. Their goal was to allow people to shop online at the same stores they shop at today, pay the same prices every one else pays, and have a portion of their purchases donated to schools.

This is how Raise for Future was born.
